Hopping Through the Alphabet

Thought for the day:  You don't have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.  [C.S. Lewis]  A little bit of change is good for the soul.  [me]

Baby bunnies #1 and #2
Yep, change.

That's my way of saying I was too lazy I've been too darned busy no typical Friday megapost this week. And not for a while. Gonna take a hiatus from them until at least May, when we'll pick back up with the state of New Jersey.

In the meantime, our grandchildren in Alabama got their bunnies. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, you can get the full poop on this past Monday's post.)

Bunny #3

Bunny #4
Cute, aren't they? Especially the first two; they're not much more than little balls of fur. Looks like the other two are in the kitchen. Naaaah, they're not gonna be at all spoiled, I'm sure.

[Let's hope the number STAYS at four. If not, I'll let ya know.]

Have you guys been noticing this badge on a lot of blogs lately? I know some of you are planning to participate in the challenge, but for those who aren't, I figured I'd give y'all a heads up.

Starting this coming Sunday, the first of April (no fooling!) all of the A-Z participants will be doing a post about something beginning with the letter A. Then, each subsequent day, will be doing a post based on something beginning with the next letter of the alphabet, until we run the full gamut. So that'll be twenty-six days of posting, (no more Sunday posts after the first one) which is considerably more than some of us usually do in a month. (like me) Should be fun, though. There are  more than fourteen hundred participants signed up so far, who will be in a frenzy visiting as many of the other participating blogs each day as they can. (If you're interested in joining the insanity fun, you can register up until the second of April.) So, we should have a lot more comments to keep up with than usual, and a lot more other blogs to read than usual, but I'll do my best to keep up with all of you guys, my usual blogger buddies. Except for in the middle of the month. Gonna be spending time with some dear friends we haven't seen in several years then, so phooey on the computer while we're hanging out with them.

Some of the A-Z participants have selected a theme for all their posts. Mine is amateur radio. I hope you find the subject interesting enough to stick with me through April's madness, but if not, I'll catch y'all in May.

Until then, take care of yourselves. And each other.

  1. Amateur radio? Interesting and unusual choice, I suspect. I look forward to it.

    Love,

  2. I'm going to take a break from blogging during April, since I learned last year that blog visitors will be few and far between while the AtoZ Challenge is going on (for non-participants). So I'm going to use the time I would've spent writing post working on a new WIP instead!

That doesn't mean I won't stop by. Amateur radio sounds interesting! Visiting other people's blogs is a good water cooler activity for me, so I won't be totally absent.

  3. Awww. Those bunnies are adorable! Hope we'll be getting bunny updates from time to time.

  4. Cute little bunny babies....Amateur radio you say?? Cool. I'll be there. We'll "catch a wave" together.

  5. Cool! Can't wait for NJ--my home state. (Be kind...) LOL

  6. Janie- Yeah, it's probably an "unusual" topic. I'm probably the only nerd writing about it, but I hope you find it interesting.

Dianne- Can't say that I blame you for taking the month off, especially if it means getting a jump-start on a new writing project. Good luck with that, and I'll look forward to your visits here when you have time.

Linda- I'll let y'all know if those cuties start multiplying, anyway.

Delores- Great! Nice to know we're on the same wave length.

Jennifer- Why, of COURSE I'll be kind. ("If ya can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all!")

  7. I guess the bunnies were just too cute to resist. :) Good luck to them.

Amatuer radio sounds like a great idea. I can't wait to read what you have to s y. I suspect there will be a lot of learnin' going on. It's a good thing. :)

Having done the same challenge a few years back I won't be signing up, but goodness I should. I might actually be forced to post something. heehee

Have a wonderful weekend. Hope you have nice weather & get outside to enjoy it. I love the spring, don't you?

  8. So many of the people that I follow are doing the A to Z challenge. That is too much pressure for me, especially since I am curtailing my blogging activities lately. Spring and life have taken over, and now, rather than being on a schedule, I have only been writing when the the mood hits me. I continue to read and comment on those people's blogs that I have come to know and whose writing I admire, but I must now pace myself a little more and take some time to sit back and smell the roses. Besides I need to get some new material, my jokes are becoming stale.

I look forward to reading your A to Z posts. I know they will be interesting and clever, and of course, funny. You are a wonderful writer and I am so glad that I have met you through Blog World. Hopefully we will continue in this writing journey, just not as often.

  9. Cute bunnies. I apparently have a severe bunny fur allergy.

  10. Bunnies! So sweet! Let's hope there aren't four score of them this time next year...
Wow, amateur radio. I have several people to notify of this. Our low power community station (which I've been involved with since its first mention, 16 years ago) is going back on the air after the studio burning/flooding last April.

    I'll miss Yammy Fridays!!

  11. I'm glad to see that you are participating in the A-Z too, and I think your theme sounds so interesting. Looking forward to your posts.

And I totally love the bunny pics. How adorable!! I've never had a bunny but I always think they look so precious.

Have a great weekend and see you on Sunday for the A-Z!

  12. Skippy- I'm sorry I missed your A-Z posts from a few years ago, but I wasn't around. Well, I was around (and getting rounder) but I wasn't on Blogger. I'm sure your posts were super, and I'm looking forward to you feeling well enough to get back to posting more often again. And yes, I DO love springtime. Trees and flowers are blooming everywhere!!! You have a super weekend, too.

Arleen- Thank you. I'm honored that you still make time to stop by here. I understand the urge to back off a bit, especially this time of year when the great outdoors is hooting and hollering and calling our names. I do hope you enjoy the amateur radio posts. Not sure how funny they are, but they'll be different...

Tonja- Oh, sorry about the allergy to bunny fur. One of our cats has fur as soft as a bunny, but it is kinda nice to snuggle with a real baby bunny once in a while.

Laura- I have a feeling the amateur radio I'll be writing about and the idea you have of it may not exactly coincide, but I hope you still find it somewhat interesting. And Yammy Fridays will be back eventually.

Julie- Glad you like the bunny pics. I totally stole 'em off my DIL's facebook page. You have a super weekend, too, and good luck with the A-Z.

    Take care, y'all.

  15. Amateur radio is an interesting theme.

And the CS Lewis quote? Golden. Simply golden.

Good luck keeping those bunnies at 4. ;)

  20. This sounds like a great choice for a theme. I bet nobody else has thought of it :-)

  21. Emily- Glad you like the amateur radio theme. (Hope you still think so once the posts actually start!)

Mr. C- Oh, no she isn't, either! The kids wouldn't like what would happen to the rabbits if they came to our house. (I cook a mean rabbit...)

    John- Thanks!

Laura- Me, too, I think. A little apprehensive, though. Good luck!

Momto8- I'm glad we got to be blogging pals, too. Your family is a real inspiration.

Sarah- I don't think anyone else picked this theme, either, but we'll see.

Thank you all for your comments, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
