Party Time!!!

Thought for the day: We're all invited to a par-teeeee!

OK, so not exactly a party. More like a BBQ. Only better. Nobody has to chase dustballs from the house, scrub toilets, cut grass, pull out lawn chairs, make a bunch of food, or even get out of your jammies if you don't want to. It's a virtual Labor Day blogfest cook-out, hosted by Karen at
Coming Down the Mountain: A Writer's Blog

Pop on over to her blog and tell everybody what you're gonna bring. Me, I'm bringing a mess of steamed crabs and a chocolate rum cake. (Decadent!)

The purpose of this shindig is to meet some other bloggers. It's a social. A lovely tea, if you will. Only you can drink whatever the heck you want to drink. Check out some of the blogs of the other party animals you'll meet at Karen's place, and maybe some of them will check yours. It's an opportunity to pick up another follower or two. And to have some fun. Minus the need to clean up a bunch of post-party trash.

See ya there!

  1. Hi! I've stopped by after your comment on my Bang Out the Prose blog. I've brought cocktail sauce to go with your steamed crabs, if you like. Nice to meet you!

  2. Hi, Suz. Thank you, ma'am. The cocktail sauce sounds good for steamed shrimp . . . maybe I'd better throw some of them on the stove, too.

Hi, Hilary. Sorry for the problems posting a comment. Blogger can be a difficult pain in the derriere at time, but I appreciate you sticking with it and passing a comment through Karen. I hope it plays nice with you in the future.

Hi, Marguerite. Great. The crabs are hot and the beer is cold. (Not really. I don't like beer, but it SOUNDS good.)

  20. Hi, All. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Kittie- Whether ya found me by mistake or found me on purpose, I'm glad you're here. Welcome aboard.

Donna- Better get some watermelon to top it off!

Liz- What's not to love about chocolate rum cake? Good to meet you.

Donna- Welcome aboard, ma'am. Yeah, steamed crabs are one of our favorite indulgences. Glad you liked the CT post, but it isn't "my" state. We hail from MD, but moved to GA in '71. I've been highlighting one state each Friday . . . in alphabetical order. Started out as a way to make fun of some of the cockamamie laws still on the books, but it's taken on a life of its own. Fun, though!

Cro- Not a huge fan of figs, but peaches and wine ... all RIGHT!

Jeremy- Thank you, sir. Welcome aboard.

Jess- Ah, another crab lover! Welcome. Hope your hubby's birthday party is a huge success.

Karen- My pleasure, ma'am. And thank you for hosting the fun.

Starting Over- Ummmmm, thanks, but I'd rather eat the wet grass. Have a great weekend.

  25. Hi, Betsy. Thank you so much for stopping by, dear lady. (pssst, I've always looked younger than my age, but there's a painting of me that looks a hundred and fifty.) I'll be visiting your blog in a little bit.

Hi, Liza. Yeah, this has been fun, even if my husband has been teasing me over it. (He doesn't get the point of blogging, let alone a "virtual BBQ" ... that's an engineer for ya! )Great to meetcha.
