Yep, there's gonna be an ever-increasing number of outrageous ads filled with half-truths and outright lies dumped on us, more recorded telephone messages from every political (and celebrity) Tom, Dick, and Mary, and an even higher-intensity rhetorical BS than we've had to endure so far. (oh, goody!)
Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end, and no sense of responsibility at the other. [Ronald Reagan]
So am I gonna go all blah-blah-blah political on you? No, of course not! Helpful gal that I am, I'm merely gonna show you what I consider to be an appropriate fleet of patriotic vehicles that is ready, willing, and able to serve our country throughout this highly excremental political season. Yep, I'd say these fine trucks are definitely up to handling the inauspicious dooty...
(Hey! When you have a crappy job, you've gotta keep your sense of humor.)
Laughter is the shortest distance between friends.
Until next time, take care of yourselves. And each other.
Big, big smiles. Our election is just over, but these trucks would have been more than welcome.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling they could be put to use in just about every country in the world. :)
DeleteThis post is wonderfully accurate, Susan. Election years generate their own kind of effluvium. Hold your nose, dear friend, here we go again!
ReplyDeleteYep, I think our bloviating politicians create more methane than every herd of cattle in Texas.
DeleteOMG, Susan - what an extremely appropriate post! These photos are classics and it's very difficult to choose a favorite. I luv the Stool Bus.
ReplyDeleteLooks like there will be a lot of crap flinging and stool stomping until November. (*sigh*)
HA! Thanks. I'm glad you liked 'em. Unfortunately, I don't think the crap flinging and stool stomping will end with the election. :(
DeleteHi Susan - those are wonderful ... such fun to see amongst all the political shenanigans - thankfully I can turn off for yours ... I've had enough for now - though ours is turning interesting ...
ReplyDeleteCheers Hilary
Wish WE could tune 'em out...
DeleteYes, the changes in your country are definitely getting interesting. Especially your new PM.
Cheers back atcha. Have a super weekend.
Love the stool bus! And the ones carrying political promises.
ReplyDeleteOur election is over with now, I think a few votes still need to be counted, but the dust is beginning to settle and the wait-and-see game begins. Wait and see who is going to keep their promises.
The stool bus is my favorite, too.
DeleteGood luck! I hope you politicians are better at keeping their promises than some of ours are.
Great to see some humour amid all the political shenanigans. Things are pretty crazy in the UK right now!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the changes over there are pretty amazing. I never in a million years thought Brexit would come out on the winning side, but it looks like your new PM is up to the task of making things work for everyone.
DeleteHere? We HAVE to have a sense of humor. :)
Great photos, Susan! And I appreciate your wonderful political correctness even in enumeration: "more recorded telephone messages from every political (and celebrity) Tom, Dick, and Mary". Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteHi-ya, Britta.
DeleteI'm glad ya liked it. :)
haha those are great. And even full they are probably less full of crap than the 2 choices you guys have to choose from.
ReplyDeleteHA! You've got that right!
DeletePerfect. And you started this post off right - Min. Wage for Politicians. Amazing what could happen then. Happy Weekend to you
ReplyDeleteYeah, minimum wage for politicians sounds about right to me, too. Along with term limits. :)
DeleteHappy weekend to you, too!
So appropriate! So true! And gee, so sad too, but we have to laugh, what other choice is there besides drowning in the sh..! It'll be interesting to see if prayers for an asteroid come the week following all this bullsh..!
ReplyDeleteYep, we've gotta laugh. I have no plans to drown in their muck, but I'm not sure how long I can tread... um... poop. :)
DeleteHA! I can do without the asteroid, too...
Have to have a sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteYou betcha. Beats the alternative.
DeleteSome folks are SO creative! Love these all, but my favorite is "Back Off ... we ain't hauling milk."
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm glad they tickled your funny bone, too.
DeleteHahahahahahahah!!!! The more things change the more they stay the same! Thanks for the laughs!
ReplyDeletex
:) I'm glad you liked 'em, kiddo.
DeleteI like the sentiment "Minimum Wage For Politicians." Considering nearly all of them are richer than Croesus to start with, and get even wealthier (from what I suspect are "gratuities") while in office, they don't need a six-figure salary. Give 'em a buck a year.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures were hilarious!
Yeah, I like that sentiment, too. A lot. The way things are now, a decent, honest, caring person of character doesn't stand a chance in the world of politics if he doesn't have a boatload of cash.
DeleteThanks! I'm glad you liked 'em.
One of your FUNNIEST (& yet truest) posts!!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm glad it didn't stink. :)
DeleteGreat post. I am beginning to despair a bit. I am clinging to my optimism as much as I can and for as long as my trust in human nature allows me to, but...
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.
Never despair. We've gotta believe...
DeleteGreetings back atcha.
Great pictures, and so fitting for an election year! At least you brought us something to smile about during election time. And I'm glad you found use again for the snapshot I took!
ReplyDeleteYep, those trucks tell the story well. :)
DeleteAnd thanks again for that picture! It was perfect for this post!
The Stool Bus might be a little too graphic for me!
ReplyDeleteHA! You sissy :)
DeleteHahaha! These are great. Who knew that septic tank cleaners have such great senses of humor? :) Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteI think in that line of work, a good sense of humor is mandatory. Otherwise, they'd just turn into grouchy old poops. :)
DeleteYou have a super weekend, too.
Susan, I think it is great that they can come up with these signs... I have had to give up watching the political news... it is so depressing... so anything that makes me laugh is good ... Have a great weekend xox
ReplyDeleteMe, too! Their job may be a little stinky, but their senses of humor are pretty darned sweet. :)
DeleteYou have a great weekend, too.
I was gagging and giggling at the same time.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip and thehamish
HA! That must not have been easy to do. :)
DeleteCheers back atcha.
Oh gosh, I needed that laugh. We think that it can't get worse, then it does. It really is all a pile of crap, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteGlad I could accommodate you with a chuckle. :)
DeleteUnfortunately, it does seem like it's all crap at times, but at least Trump didn't tap Newt for his VP. THAT would have been even worse. (IMHO)
LOL! Why, Susan, I do believe this might be the crappiest post I've ever seen here. ;) (Thanks for the laugh!)
ReplyDeleteHA! Well, thank you, my dear. :)
DeleteEach year I think the political scene just can't get worse. Every year I'm surprised it did.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope the pendulum starts swinging back the other way soon, and our political scene starts getting more palatable.
DeleteThanks for the smile. I can’t believe we’re in for another four months of election poop. I don’t even want to think about what might come after.
ReplyDeleteVR Barkowski
Yeah, I know. It's almost enough to make this cock-eyed optimist shudder.
DeletePolitical poo?
ReplyDeleteBut, you repeat yourself.
Indeed.
DeletePolitical poo?
ReplyDeleteBut, you repeat yourself.
Um... so do you!
DeleteThat stool bus got me. I held it in until then, but you got me. Whew! LOL! I wonder sometimes if any rational individual actually believes a word that comes out of a politician's mouth? Maybe just the young and gullible, eh?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the young and innocent still believe the political claptrap they hear, but I doubt if even they're that gullible anymore. Such a shame.
DeleteThat truck is such a welcome sight when you have a backed up septic, but back to the poo at hand, you're right, the onslaught is coming. I hate this election already.
ReplyDeleteYeah, if we had a septic tank, and it got backed up, I wouldn't even CARE if the truck that came to bail us out had a funny sign on it or not... as long as it worked its magic.
DeleteIt's sad, but I think most voters feel the same way as you do about this year's election.
Haha...these are the trucks which work their magic where needed urgently!
ReplyDeleteYep, they don't call 'em honey dippers for nothing. Without their help when ya need it, things are anything but sweet...
DeleteWhat fun logos on these trucks. We don't have any funny ones where I am. It's the season for fliers, phone calls, and people knocking on the door.
ReplyDeleteFlyers, I don't mind, but those recorded telephone messages drive me nuts. (Granted, it's a pretty short trip...)
DeleteThey contact you by phone? So invasive! That's like slinging poop directly in your ear! At least if someone knocks on your door you can slam it/talk to them/activate the trap, and a flyer can be recycled. Our MPs use good quality paper, it gets my Rayburn lit in seconds.
ReplyDeleteYes! By telephone... and many, many times a day. All kinds of politicians and celebrities make recordings and then pollute our telephone lines with their poop ad nauseum. And since it's a recording, there isn't even any joy in slamming the phone down on them.
DeleteHA! I like your ideas about how to deal with the ones who knock on your door. :)
