Thought for the day: Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
Wow, another really sweet award. This one came to me from Madeleine, at
Scribble and Edit And guess what? No requirements this time. I don't have to tell you what my favorite color is, or who put the bop in the bop she bop she bop, or anything. All I have to do is pass the award on to another blogger I deem creative. AFTER I say a huge
Thank you to Madeleine, of course. So, thank you, Madeleine. I'm honored.
I'm gonna pass this award on to a really super lady, who reeeally knows her way around making her blog look terrific. (Even if she DID remove all the gorgeous cardinals from her header picture ...) Anyway, I'm happy to crown the delightful Arleen of
Accepting Changes- Maybe as an incredibly creative (um, make that
Kreativ) Blogger. Hip-hip-hoo-RAY!
Um, I've been thinking. If I ... uh ... offended any tender sensibilities out there with my last post,
mea culpa. (
But really, I thought it was as funny as a fart in a closed elevator...) Sorry. I'll behave myself today. Starting now. Promise.
In fact, I'm gonna try to wriggle into your good graces like a smelly little pig in a basket full of puppies.

Got room for me? |

And I wuv her. |

We're just one big happy family. |
Oh, listen! Is that rain? Oh, goody. I think there's a broken umbrella in the hall closet ... now, where ARE those dance shoes ...?
Until next time, take care of yourselves. And each other.
Singing in the rain is fun and cool! Its the lightening that worries me.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and pictures!
your "thought for the day" is one of my favourites...
ReplyDeletethose are adorable pictures!! Love your thoughts about them, too.
ReplyDeleteThere have been a lot of stories lately about animal species interacting and helping each other. They definitely have something to teach us.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Susan. I especially like it because I don't have to reveal anything else about myself. The only thing left for me to tell is that I have a big freckle on my right pinky toe. Now that that secret is out, my life is an open book.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for mentioning me in a post called, "Dancing with Pigs". I love piggies, and I am honored.
Awwww. (At least until that little piggy starts smelling like bacon. Then all bets are off.)
ReplyDeleteBeach Bum- No problem. If you're worried about lightning, dance in the shower. (Don't forget to wear flip-flops!)
ReplyDeleteJohn- Mine, too.
Sarah- Glad you liked 'em. Baby pigs are so adorable.
Delores- Yeah, they keep TRYING to teach us, but most of us keep ignoring them.
Arleen- I wasn't ... um... insinuating anything by associating you with dancing piggies, ya know. Although they ARE cute and lovable, aren't they? (So, maybe I was insinuating something, after all.) And you're welcome.
Linda- Gotcha!
ReplyDeleteFun post, Susan!
ReplyDeleteI love your sense of humor. And congratulations on the award!
I also love the pictures, and second the "awwwww.!" (But while I am a HUGE animal lover, I also realize that's a well-fed happily-domesticated mommy pup. A starving, feral mommy pup living in the wild and trying to feed its babies might look at that little piggy in a different light. So I hesitate at too much altruistic anthropomorphism. I'm just saying...)
(LOL, Chris)
ReplyDeletePiglets are too cute for words. And I agree... your thoughts of the day are great... I always wonder how you have so many stellar ones up your sleeve.
Chris- You're right, but a starving feral pooch won't have much interest in feeding her OWN pups, either. And the whole image of that is too, too sad. (I like all my critter well-fed, well-loved, and happy.)
ReplyDeleteCarrie- Who ... ME? Why, the only thing up my little ol' sleeve is my arm, darlin! (I DO have folders full of tidbits I've taken a shine to over the years, though. And... um... I've got a LOTTA years!)
How can anyone not love those pictures? Definite 'aaah' factor :-)
ReplyDeleteYou can tell fart jokes all day long as far as I'm concerned! :)
ReplyDeleteThe birds are back! However, they will fly away in March.
ReplyDeleteYou were right. I usually change the picture every two or so weeks, but the header I put up last week is kind of creepy and was getting on my nerves.
Mama doesn't look all that happy with her new charge. But the new charge looks as happy as a pig in s... You know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan .. congratulations on the award .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteSarah- Yeah, who'd a thunk a pig could be so darned cute?
ReplyDeleteDL- HA! Thanks. I'll keep that in mind.
Arleen- YAY! I LOVE that picture with all the cardinals. It was like a really good omen the way they all showed up in your yard at the same time.
Mr. C- HA! Good one. Yeah, he sure does.
Hilary- Thank you, dear lady. And cheers to you, too.
I love the pig and the puppies and I loved the fart post. Fart all you like, laugh, and write about it. I'll laugh, too. Isn't it sad that most young people today don't know who Gene Kelley is?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Awww. That little pig doesn't know he's not a dog.
ReplyDeleteActually ... wasn't that the plot of the movie Babe?
Congrats on your award and perfect choice to pass it on to SO! I heart Singin in the Rain. :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award, Susan! Excellent quote and I'm adding it to my list inspirational quotes. Love the pics of piggy and puppies! And "Singing in the Rain" song and dance? One of my favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteJanie- You're right; it's a shame how many people aren't familiar with Gene Kelly. (Then again, some people may think it's a shame I'm not familiar with their favorite rappers and hip-hip music.)
ReplyDeleteDianne- Actually, I don't know. I've heard of "Babe", of course, but I've never seen it. If that is the premise behind it, I'll bet that's one sweet movie.
Tracy- Thank you. Me, too. That's one of my favorite feel-good song and dance routines.
Intricate Knot- Thank you. It makes me feel good to know I'm not the only one who still loves that song and dance.
Take care.
Awww how precious that pig and those puppies are! I hope they'll stay friends when they grow up.
ReplyDeleteI kind of had enough of rain last year when we set a record rainfall amount here in PA, but your pictures are adorable.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Susan,
ReplyDeleteFirstly, hearty congratulations for receiving that award from Madeleine. Madeleine is a very nice lady and she hero worships me. Did I mention I was delusional? :)
And well done to Arleen for having the award bestowed upon her.
Anyway, not one to 'hog' the comments section or 'boar'you to tears, this comment will end abruptly but not before I thank you for your kind comment on my last posting.
Happy writing and I shall now go dance in the rain :)
Shelley- Hey, who knows? It could happen! Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteSusan- (Have I told you before how much I love your name ...?) We've had a lot of drought years here in the past decade, so I really DO feel like going outside and dancing when it falls.
Gary- Thank you, dear sir. And with your use of puns, I can tell we're gonna get along just fine!
So soo cute and a well deserved award. Congrats to Arleen.
ReplyDeleteMadeleine- Thank you, ma'am. Take care.
